My name is Marlon Huynh. I am
currently a freelance artist as well as a caricature supervisor for Kamans
Art Shoppes at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I was born in 1979 and raised in Tampa,
Florida. At an early age, I discovered my talent for drawing and began developing
my artistic skills.
After graduating high school in
1997, I continued my education at the Ringling School of Art and Design. During
my senior year, I created an animated short called All Shook Up. It
later went on to be screened at various animation film festivals such as the
Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, the Independents’
Film Festival, and the East Lansing Children’s Film Festival. The short
also received an honorable mention at the 2002 World Population Film/Video
Festival. In 2001, I graduated from Ringling with a Bachelor of Fine Arts
in Computer Animation.
In January of 2003, I was hired
by Kamans Art Shoppes, where I was introduced to caricatures. I was instantly
hooked on the artform. I later became a member of the National Caricaturist
Network(NCN), which is an international organization created to promote the
art of caricature. I have learned a great deal and been deeply inspired by
the incredibly talented artists that I work with. On most days, I can be found
at Busch Gardens drawing caricatures of people from all over the world.
I am skilled in various media
including graphite, marker, colored pencil, and acrylic. Outside of caricatures,
I create other works that range from the abstract to realistic portraits.
